Vision
SwedNess aims to ensure that Sweden has a strong and internationally competitive user community capable of fully exploiting the scientific opportunities offered by the European Spallation Source (ESS) and related large-scale research infrastructures.
By educating highly skilled researchers and strengthening collaboration between universities, research infrastructures and industry, SwedNess contributes to excellent science, technological innovation, and solutions to major societal challenges.
Mission
SwedNess educates the next generation of researchers in neutron scattering.
Through a joint national effort involving Swedish universities, SwedNess builds a competence cluster that supports the development and use of large-scale research infrastructures such as ESS. The research school connects academia, industry, and international facilities, enabling doctoral students to develop both scientific expertise and practical experience with cutting-edge experimental methods.
